- How can I properly care for cast iron surfaces?
- In order to prevent unwanted build-up of oils, grease, and food, surfaces should be cleaned after use while still slightly warm. Harsh chemicals or scouring pads should not be used—only hot water and a cloth or sponge are needed. If some areas require extra cleaning, a mild scouring pad can be used. Please refer to our Pan Seasoning Guide for further information on properly cleaning and seasoning cast iron surfaces.

Cast iron skillets have several advantages over other types of cookware. First, cast iron is an ideal heat conductor. Because it heats evenly and consistently with no "hot spots," foods cook better with less chance of scorching.
Additionally, cast iron cookware will also last almost indefinitely with proper care. When seasoned properly, foods will not stick! You can cook healthier because you don't have to use lots of butter or cooking spray. Finally, no specialized utensils are required: cast iron cookware can go from stovetop to oven to table with nothing but potholders! This skillet has a 12 1/2" top diameter, a 10 1/4" bottom diameter, and a 4" handle.
Please Note: This cast iron skillet has a protective bee’s wax coating which should be removed before the skillet is used. This is done by exposing the skillet to an open flame until the bee's wax coating is burnt off.

This is a great skillet. Its not fancy but it gets the job done. Very heavy which is great. We only needed one but I would not be afraid to order another one.

It might be heavy as can be, but you can't improve on this pan for sheer workhorse results. Be sure not to use soap. Just wash under hot water with a nylon scrubber, and dry on the stove top, or simply wipe out with a towel. Every once in a while, rub with a little vegetable oil (never a silicone based cooking spray), then wipe out excess and heat on the stove or in the oven to re-season.

When i ordered my cast iron skillets it remined me of my grandmother, that was all she used. These skillets will last a lifetime and are priced to sell. Well pleased.

The 12 1/2' Cast Iron Skillet is priced to sell .The cast iron skillet makes the best corn bresd or biscutes ever . They cook evenly make sure you season the pans first and they wont stick .wash with water only towel dry and place on burner until completly dry and they won,t rust .
