Job Summary
At WebstaurantStore, we help businesses thrive. Our mobile app helps customers manage orders, stay informed, and get things done wherever they are. We're looking for a Manager to lead a team of developers responsible for building and improving our React Native mobile app experience for customers on iOS and Android.
Your role is to help the team do their best work while delivering meaningful value for customers and the business. You'll support growth and development, create clarity around priorities and expectations, improve how work gets delivered, and help ensure we build high-quality experiences that solve real customer problems.
This is primarily a people leadership role, but you'll stay close to the work. You'll understand the customer experience, technical challenges, and business goals well enough to provide guidance, support decision-making, identify risks, remove obstacles, and help teams navigate change.
You'll have a proven track record of leading and developing engineers and know how to balance technical understanding with coaching, team development, and delivery leadership.
Remote Work Qualifications
- Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
- Access to a home router and modem.
- A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
- A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
- The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of developers through feedback, mentorship, career development, and performance management.
- Create clarity around priorities, ownership, expectations, and goals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and team development efforts.
Delivery & Technical Leadership
- Support planning and delivery across new features, bug fixes, technical improvements, and platform initiatives.
- Help the team work through technical challenges, tradeoffs, and changing priorities while removing obstacles and identifying risks early.
- Ensure work meets expectations for quality, accessibility, performance, maintainability, and customer experience.
- Help improve development practices, standards, and ways of working across the team
Business & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with Product, Design, Accessibility, and Engineering to solve problems and deliver better outcomes.
- Connect day-to-day work to customer needs, product goals, and business priorities.
- Communicate progress, risks, and priorities to stakeholders and help keep work moving forward.
- Contribute to discussions about product direction, technical investments, and opportunities to improve customer experience.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Qualifications
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in mobile development, front-end development, or related technical roles.
- Experience building and delivering mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript, or significant experience leading teams working in React Native environments.
- 3+ years of experience leading, managing, and developing engineers, including coaching, feedback, performance management, and career growth.
- Experience supporting project delivery and coordinating work across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture, accessibility, performance, testing, maintainability, and user experience.
- Familiarity with component-based development, state management, API integration, release management, and iOS/Android platform considerations.
- Experience partnering closely with Product, Design, Accessibility, and Engineering throughout the product development process.
