Remote Work Qualifications

  • Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
  • Access to a home router and modem.
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
  • Legal residents of one of the following states: (AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, and WY).

Responsibilities

As a Quality Engineer, you will: 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, triage, and resolve issues by identifying root causes.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests within our existing automation framework, adhering to established coding standards.
  • Perform system, integration, and UI testing across multiple web-based applications and platforms.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and workflows to support timely and thorough testing of development tasks.
  • Create, update, and maintain QA documentation and test plans.
  • Work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with team members both onsite and remotely.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance (QA) role
  • 3+ years of experience with C#, Java, and Groovy
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with API and UI automation using C#
  • Intermediate SQL knowledge
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, including white box, black box, system, regression, risk-based, and exploratory testing
  • Experience testing both web and mobile applications
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases
  • Experience evaluating project risks and providing accurate testing effort estimates
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Ability to interpret and expand on business requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Familiarity with various software testing approaches and strategies
  • Availability to work during Eastern Time Zone business hours

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points):

  • Experience in both manual and automated testing of applications
  • Basic understanding of troubleshooting, issue diagnosis, and programming logic
  • Familiarity with TFS, VSTS, or Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Ability to automate intermediate-level test cases and edit shared code
  • Performance testing experience using tools like JMeter

Education

  • Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or relevant equivalent industry experience.
