Josh Software Engineer

Almost immediately after graduating University of Pittsburgh in 2014, I began working at the WebstaurantStore and enjoyed it since. I work in our computer science department, which provides opportunities to interact with many people in the company. The department learns many of the processes which happen behind the scenes. We maintain code, fix issues on the site, and introduce new features to the site. I personally work a lot with our Customer Solutions department to make communication with customers as smooth and efficient as possible

One of my favorite things about working in this department is the range of experience we have. Even as someone new to the computer science field, I felt very comfortable asking questions. There's always an opportunity to learn something new each day. The company also provides a lot of fantastic benefits. From our breakfast and lunch bar to table games including pool, ping pong, and air hockey, there's always a way to take a few minutes out of your day and relax.

After graduating from Pitt in 2009, I spent some time working in a law office, and soon found that I was looking for a different kind of challenge and work environment. I started working at the WebstaurantStore in 2011 as a Logistics Coordinator and am so happy to be able to call this place home. After two great years in the Coordinator position, I was promoted to a manager role of a newly created team in Logistics, and then to director of a new department. Every day, I get to face exciting challenges and opportunities that allow me to use my critical thinking and problem solving skills. I enjoy working on process improvements and finding ways to make the user experience more efficient and friendly for all parties involved.

I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in December 2012, moved back to the Lancaster area, and quickly began looking for work within the Marketing field. I applied for a job with the WebstaurantStore and ended up interviewing for the Customer Solutions Specialist position. From day one, I couldn't help but notice the innovative and fast-paced mindset of my coworkers. I enjoy that every day has its own tasks and challenges, which always keeps me on my toes.

My favorite part about working here is the culture. It's not every day that you find a job where you can work side by side with coworkers who quickly become your friends. With a team-based mindset, everyone is willing to help and encourage each other with their growth and success. It provides a variety of ways to grow and find your own niche in the company based on your interests and talents. It's great to be a part of such a fast growing company where there is never a dull moment (or an empty stomach).
