The edges of this countertop have been rounded off to create eased edges. This ensures safety and comfort in the kitchen as you move about the countertop, quickly rounding corners as you move. Additionally, the varnique finish is resistant to stains and spots, and it's easy to clean! Varnique leaves a smooth, non-sticky semi-gloss finish that is practically maintenance-free. Although the varnique finish is durable and food safe for tasks such as rolling dough, it is not food safe in use as a cutting board, and cutting on it should be avoided as this can expose the unprotected wood beneath the finish to potential bacteria.
