ARY VacMaster VP112S Chamber Vacuum Sealer

Item #: 120VMASVP112

Perfect for vacuum sealing soups, stews, marinades, and other foods for sous vide cooking applications, the VacMaster VP112S chamber vacuum sealer does not seal by pulling air forward, like external vacuum packaging machines, it seals by taking all the air out of the chamber at once and makes a stronger seal.

I waited until I’ve used the unit for around a month before I did the review. This way, I get to know it’s strengths and weaknesses. First of all, I am very satisfied with the unit. However, I can not give top marks to THE SPECIFIC UNIT I GOT due to the following: 1. The gasket around the unit is somewhat loose (see pics and video) and this sometimes results in failed operations, likely because a vacuum is not being created. I want to glue the gasket to keep it in place, but I’m a little concerned that I might not be able to take it out when it needs to be replaced. I also don’t know if gluing the gasket will void the warranty.?? I did not notice this right away, and the repeated failures almost made me return the unit.?? This loose gasket is my biggest disappointment with the unit. Every other point I mention below are minor compared to this.? 2. VacMaster could improve the documentation. Page 5, item #4 of the VP112S user manual - http://bit.ly/VP112S_user_manual - refers to a unit of measure called hg. A quick google search suggests that this refers to “units of mercury”. The manual then gives maximum and minimum settings in hg and says “minimum setting of 23.5hg to a maximum of 29.3hg”. This is quite straight-forward. HOWEVER, the unit itself does NOT show hg. ?? The unit displays a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 70. It does not indicate what this is, but it seems to be seconds.?? Another documentation failure is the mention of an included filler plate in one of the videos. This video from VacMaster - http://bit.ly/VP112S_filler_plate - says at around the 38 second mark that “it comes with a filler plate” but no filler plate was included. I would have bought it without a filler plate anyway, but it would be nice to have some consistency among all of VacMaster’s documentation (user manual, spec sheet, videos, etc).? 3. Regarding the vacuum failure mentioned in (1), page 7 item #10 of the manual says "Press and hold down the lid until the vacuum engages". It would be nice if a sticker is placed in the lid to serve as a visual reminder, similar to the sticker that says “lift by the side handles”.?? Also, detecting when “the vacuum engages” just BY SOUND is kind of lame. It may work for some people, especially when they are already used to it… but what if the user is hearing impaired? It would be much better to put in a vacuum gauge - that way, there is definite confirmation that the vacuum has engaged. These (and more) are all discussed in the video review.

This machine works great for dry vacuum sealing. Rarely a leaker. Used vigorously and had a seal issue after a month or so. Sent back and was repaired. Works great now for over a year. Great customer service by MFR.

In anticipation of receiving the VacMaster VP112S I decided to make a some Baltimore style lump crab cakes and a batch of Coney Island hot dog sauce. I was eager to try out the new vacuum and see how it would work on the many foods that my "old external sealer" worked great with dry foods, but I would always have to go through the extra step of pre-freezing the food before I could vac pack any "wet foods". Well this chamber vac did everything they said it would. The control panel is so intuitive that I had perfectly vacuumed and sealed packages the 1st time I tried. I look forward to many years of good use with my new "toy". Websturant sent it out so quickly that I received it in just 2 days. I will definitely be using them for my future supplies.

I followed the instructions and the unit worked flawlessly right out of the box. The only issue I had was the rubber seal that belong on the lid over the sealing bar was laying loose in the machine when I unpacked it and it took a bit of head scratching for me to figure out where it belonged. The documentation that was included could be more detailed, specifically to include an exploded view of consumable parts and their placement. After muddling through vacuum sealing tasks with my old food saver, I decided to upgrade to the vacmaster vp112s. I make my own sausage and and freeze 30 to 50 pound batches in one pound vacuum packs, Using the 8" x 10" 3 mil vacmaster bags and filler plate set it takes about 90 seconds to seal each pack which is much quicker than the food saver. I recommend purchasing the filler plates as they seem to significantly shorten the cycle time on small volume packages. The sausage, either loose or stuffed, is very soft and bloody and proved to be very problematic for the food saver system. I no longer need to par-freeze the meat prior to packing with the vacmaster .The seals are perfect every time and no more finding freezer burned product after the seals have failed. The vacmaster is pricey but the bags are reasonably priced compared with the foodsaver bags and are available in a wide variety of sizes. The downside is that they are sold in quantities of 1000 which are cheap enough but way more than needed for the home user. I would like to see webresturant break down the large quantities of the most popular sized bags and offer a variety pack with say 100 or so of each size bag.The other issue is that unless you have acres of counter space you will need to find a storage area for the unit that is handy to where you will be doing the packing. The vacmaster is fairly large and heavy but then again it is not a kitchen gadget but more of a commercial machine which you hope will be heavily built rather than small and light. I haven't used it a ton but so far it has earned the 5 stars in my books.

Finally got tired of fighting with a FoodSaver that I'd used for years. I'd been eyeing a chamber vac for years, so that I could seal meats with marinades, stocks, etc. This one is great for my home use. The marinade function is a nice bonus, that I've used several times as well.

The vp112s is definitely commercial quality. It is very solid and well put together machine. With that said , it is somewhat heavy(50#) . It's not only the weight of the machine but the size of the machine that makes it slightly cumbersome. I am 52 yrs old and of average height and weight ( 165 # ) . I carry it through my house from my storage area to my kitchen with very little difficulty. if this is a concern for you then you will need an area where it is convenient to set up and use and not have to move it around. It is also somewhat large. It is like 2 feet long. So take that into consideration when buying. Other than that the only other thing that would take away from this machine is that you are limited in the size of the item that you can vacuum seal. Now for the best part. This is by far ( excluding the large cabinet style , with oil filled motor, i seen used at an Alaskan fishing outfitter) the nicest vacuum sealer i have owned or that any of my friends own. It is , i would guess, 30-40% quieter than any of the external vacs i have used. You can also vacuum liquids in this machine and do not have to worry about blood or other liquids contaminating the seal. Like the little kid that i am, the first thing i did with this machine is seal up a bag of water just to see it work. It also has a nice wide seal. The bags are , by far , cheaper than the bags that you need with an external sealer. The controls are easy to use and figure out. As far as buying this from webstaurant , I could not find it any cheaper. I ordered the machine and 1000 8x10 bags cheaper than i could buy the machine only from other places. The machine showed up in a timely fashion and was in perfect condition due to the fact that vacmaster packages these things very nicely. In conclusion, if you are contemplating buying a household size chamber vacuum sealer , then i would not hesitate to buy this item. They are a little pricier , but i guarantee that you won;t be disappointed . I gave it four stars only because i haven't used it long enough to see it's durability. But as of right now, I am extremely happy with this purchase .If it proves to be durable i would not hesitate to give this machine a rating of 5 stars.

The VP112S is a real workhorse in my kitchen. I bought the machine for both long term food storage and sous vide cooking. I am able to save a lot of money buying food in bulk and vacuum sealing for long-term freezer storage. The primary savings are on meat where I buy a whole or half animal at once (pork or beef). I have also found another great item for the freezer are avocados. I peel the avocado and add the pulp and some lime to juice to a bag before vacuum sealing. The avocado will keep in the freezer for a while, 6 months is the longest I've stored it and it comes out like fresh with no browning. I stock up when avocados are on sale and make 7-8 batches for guacamole at a time. The savings really add up. The machine also works perfectly for packaging anything I have wanted to cook sous vide.

I waited 9 months after purchasing this vacuum sealer for our restaurant because Webstaurant Store does not allow any updates to your reviews so if you leave a review and the product has problems later, you can't inform anybody with a new review. Having said that, we use sous vide cooking every day in our restaurant and this sealer gets quite the workout. The only problem we have had with it is the rubber gasket ripped when somebody spilled something greasy on it and then rubbed the gasket trying to clean it. Fortunately, ARY has a website with replacement parts and a new gasket was only about $25. The foot print of the machine is RELATIVELY small (these things are just large...there is no such thing as a compact one) which we needed because we have a tiny kitchen. It was a reasonable price and so far works just fine. The bags come in a billion different sizes and are also reasonably priced. I would buy it again.

I had been researching this sealer for a while and reading all the great reviews, before finally purchasing in July. As much as I'd like to be singing its praises, I received a DOA unit and two weeks later I'm STILL waiting on an ETA. As soon as I received the dead unit I called webstaurantstore and was told to contact the manufacturer ARY. I called ARY and was transferred to there Tech support dept, which I think consists of a single person(Gary), which was a very pleasant individual who apologized for the failed unit and promptly setup an RMA to return for repairs. The unit was received a week ago by ARY and I still don't know the status. While everyone I spoke with up to this point has been pleasant I can't help but feel that my NEW vacuum sealer, whenever I actually do receive it back, is now a REFURBISHED unit. I'm hopeful that I will receive ANY working unit soon so that I can use it and write a review on actually using the device and then giving it a true rating.

I just recieved this and tried it out on Flounder Fillets. No more having to pre-freeze before vac sealing! Fast, easy and worked great every time with no more issues of vacuuming wet meat! It also works with the other style vacuum bags and roll material but the cost of pouches here at Webstaurantsore is a LOT less! If you have other stuff, laying around, you can use of or in a pinch you can use the bags or roll material from other brands. (it will just cost you more money.) Very nice Professional grade machine, this works WAY better than any of the 3 FS brand machines I've had. This is PERFECT for the person who hunts or fishes and puts up a lot of meat!

After going thru 2 other sealers & hundreds of dollars of bags, I decided it was time to upgrade to a chamber vacuum sealer. After doing my research, reading all the good reviews of this machine, and reviews of webresturant website, I placed my order late on a Monday afternoon. I figured that it would be a few days before it arrived, so I started planning what I would do when it was delivered. It actually shipped on Monday & I received it on Wednesday. Very quick shipping. As my previous experience with shipping, it was delivered within the delivery window, and left on my door step… I was concerned when I saw the package, as it was quite beat up, dents & actual puncture’s in the box. Took several pictures of the box before opening, just in case… Much to my relief contents were undamaged, and took just a few minutes to unpack and set it up ready to use. I also ordered 1cs of the 12x14 3 mil bags, with plans to order more when I figured out which size I use the most. First thing Thursday morning was to marinate some pork chops for dinner. Worked flawlessly, was able to vacuum seal with the marinade in bag, unlike with the previous ones I had. After cooking these for dinner, my family agreed turned out great. Next up since my garden is in full swing, made up 4 quarts of pesto, and 4 quarts of my roasted garlic sauce and bagged for freezing. Was able to pack some fresh blueberries at lowest setting without crushing for freezing. Moved on to making some compressed watermelon & some that I compressed and infused with lemon & mint, and another that I compressed using cucumber & basil. Both were fantastic, ate some that evening, the rest the following day. It was even better the next day. Next was pickles, made dill, sweet, and butter pickles, after refrigerating for only 2 hours they were perfect. Great texture and flavor. Lastly was to bag some pears for poaching in a wine reduction sauce in my immersion circulator for sous vide cooking. Bags held up fine for the 45 minute cook time at 183 degrees. These turned out even better than I expected. I went thru all 40 bags in sample pack, and a few from the box I bought all in the first day… all in all, very impressed with the quality, and ease of use built into this machine. Only think it seams to be lacking I can tell at this point it would be nice if it had a seal only feature. I managed to accomplish this by starting the vacuum pack process and then hitting the seal button. It does take a few seconds for the machine to allow this, so you can’t’ do it right away. I might just have to hang on to one of my old sealers just to seal bags that I cut down to size. Also with out a option to seal with out vacuum, its not able to repackage things like powdered sugar, other dry powdered ingredients easily.. After only having for 1 day, I realize I should have made this purchase along time ago. Bags are much cheaper, this alone will pay for the machine in my first year of ownership. It is going to step up my sous vide cooking, being able to leave liquids in the package with item being cooked. Machine also is great for being able to prepare food using modernist cuisine cooking techniques. If your considering one of these machines, and sitting on the fence, just commit to it, you will not regret it. Just know that you will want to order lots of bags, the ones in the sample pack will go fast.

I was thinking to buy this baby for long time, thinking and kept thinking...why ? Because my business still small and this is the cheapest still expensive for me. After debating and lots of calculation, I bought this Vacmaster VP 112S, I'm glad I did, it really useful and now, I can add more items to sell, and thinking more again. Very sturdy, easy to use and clean, the pouch is much cheaper than other brand...like very inexpensive. Thank you Vacmaster and Webstaurant, because the price in here is the best so far. I've been waiting to get this Chamber Sealer for quite some time. So finally deciding to pull the trigger I looked back on Webstaurantstore.com and saw that the model had changed a bit and the outer port for canisters had been removed. However, I read various places that it was in pursuit of a more stable product that would not have the prior issues of breaking down. Undeterred, I purchased the VacMaster VP112s and haven't been happier. I find myself trying the basics so far, but even better, I find myself cooking more. The VacMaster just makes me want to get in the kitchen and work and the best part is I can make large batches of food and pack what I need for the week and freeze the rest. I highly recommend it if you are looking for chamber sealer. Has plenty of capacity for larger items and even comes with sample bags to try and figure out what sizes you use most. Worth the money.

You can easily vacuum seal items of various shapes and sizes. The chamber has a good capacity size.

This vacuum sealer is worth every single penny! It was packaged very well and in perfect condition and we had it within 2 days of ordering it on a holiday! It works perfectly. We have gone through 2 Food Saver brand machines and were sick and tired of them overheating after sealing 5-6 packages. The VacMaster is by far a superior product. We were nervous about the cost but are so glad now that we jumped in and made the purchase. We also highly recommend Webstaurantstore.com. This was not our first purchase from them and we continue to be very happy with the products that they offer and the speed in which they are delivered.

I'm a beginner home cook and after lot of research, I finally bought this a few months ago - I've been very happy with meal planning that I've been able to do - cooking on weekends and sealing+freezing liquids for weekday consumption. I've also made very good french toast with this. Need to spend more time experimenting with compressing+infusion fruits (I did compress watermelon with campiri). Compression you get with this isn't as good as 120 / oil-based machines [based on what I've read] , but for time size/cost, it's pretty awesome machine. Of course, a lot depends on me to do my meal planning efficiently to recoup the cost of this device!

I purchased this machine because I vacuum seal a lot of meat for the freezer. Being an avid outdoorsman I put up various types of meat, fish, and other seafood all year long. I got tired of going through the "other" brand and style of sealers. They didn't hold up, the seal didn't last, and they were difficult to get a decent seal when moisture would flow to the top. This machine works great. I have put up two deer, quite a few ducks and some fish so far and this has been a life saver. Wish I would have gotten this thing sooner. Also I'd like to give 5 stars to webstaurantstore.com for exceptional customer service. The first unit I received was damaged. They worked with me to resolve the problem. It was eventually concluded that I needed to ship it back and have another unit sent. They sent me a shipping label and promptly got my new unit on it's way. They were very nice and pleasant as well as very helpful. Thanks again for awesome customer service!!

I just purchased this just in time to seal up some pork I purchased. I managed to vacuum seal a 10lb pork shoulder in a 12X14" bag. It was really tight but the machine managed to do it. Very impressive! I have had a another brand for years and this machine is 10 times better. I wish I would have gotten it a long time ago. It is well worth the cost. Plus the bags are much cheaper. I am happy with my purchase so far.

Finally…A vacuum sealer that works with liquids!!! We have tried all kinds of vacuum sealers in the past and none will work on fresh veggies, meat or anything else that has juices in it. All of them will vacuum but when the juice starts to flow they will not create a seal. This one does the trick. It takes just over 40 seconds per bag on the setting we use (max/4). Every seal is perfect.

I've been waiting to purchase this upgraded model of the VP112 for some time now, specifically because of the new reinforced lid design. My brother purchased the original VP112 back in March 2012 on my recommendation. After about two years of extensive use the lid developed a crack, as noted by other reviewers, and had to be replaced. It was an easy fix but it was an unexpected expense. I was excited to get this upgraded model that hopefully will eliminate the lid failure problems associated with the previous model. It also has a simpler control panel (not that the old was all that difficult) and a marinating/rest cycle which seems like a cool feature. However, when I got the unit I was disappointed to learn that this new model does NOT have an accessory port/hose for vacuum sealing mason jars and marinating canisters that are to big to fit in the chamber. I do a lot of vacuum marinating in large canisters when making beef jerky so this was a huge disappointment and I'll have to hold onto my old FoodSaver just for this purpose. I'll be checking in with ARY and Webstaurant to see if the new reinforced VP112S lid will fit the old old VP112 or if the VP112S can be retrofit with an accessory port/hose.

This product will not work. It sealed three bags poorly, obvious air in the bags and now it will not work at all. Machine runs up to 18, then stalls and displays er02. Failure to enter seal mode. Can not force it to seal early either. Very unhappy with a pricey vacuum sealer that is at this point a very expensive paper weight.

I've waited a couple months since ordering to make sure it really worked. I think I got one that was a return because there were scratches on the lid and instructions, etc were loose in the box, not in any kind of bag. Also, no protective film on anything. So, I was really nervous about it but it has performed flawlessly. You know that one company that advertises you save up to 2700 a year with their sealer? I don't see how it's possible at the price for the bags. With that sealer, if I have a dollar's worth of leftovers, I have to really consider the worth of preserving them. If I want to cook ahead and freeze for lunches or dinners, the bags for that other machine often cost more than the meal I'm preparing so I find myself almost never using the other machine; it's only worth doing on the most expensive of foods. Then I finally broke down and bought the VP112S after years of drooling over chamber vacuums systems. Now bags are wayyyy less. There's never a serving or leftover that isn't worth saving now. Now, when I cook, I cook for 8 or so even though there is only two of us. That's dinner and 3 more meals. That means I only cook once or twice a week. Everything goes in the freezer and I have a lot of favorites to choose from without having to cook. I even cook rice to fill the rice maker and divide it up in meal sizes. You'd think it would mush in the vacuum sealer and it looks like it does but when you boil it in the bag and open it, it comes out just perfect. I grab a rice, a vegetable or soup, and a main course, throw them in my lunch box for work, and I have a gourmet meal in the microwave. I love to roast duck. When I do, I also make about two quarts of broth that I use with the scraps and giblets, add it all to some rice, and make duck-rice soup. Let it cool, stick it in the VP112S, and I have about 4 meals of duck soup that's better than any chicken soup you'll buy anywhere. Last night, we had hotdogs from the store. These are 1/4 lb ones that you have to buy 40 lbs at a time. They come frozen in 8 packs of 20. What in the world are my wife and I going to do with 20 hotdogs before they spoil? We thaw the 20 pack just enough to separate and divide into 4 packs of 5. Last night, I ate two (yeah, I can be a pig) and she ate one. We had two leftover from our five-pack. I could put them in a quart zip-lock bag at about 10 cents and they'd keep a few days open in the fridge or, as I did, I put them into a 6x10 VacMaster bag at about 4 cents and vacuum sealed them where they will keep for a couple weeks in the fridge. This machine is just so useful that we never hesitate to use it. If the other machine can save you 2700 dollars while charging a lot cents a bag, just imagine how much this one can save you - the savings will be many times over the additional machine cost. At more than the price of the other machine, it has about 20 times the value so it pays for itself easily.

Do a lot of sous vide cooking and the VacMaster was the next logical step. I use this weekly and for a lot of different size bags. Seals very well and removes suction from everything from lasagna to soups. I did that initially put the gasket on incorrectly which made sealing difficult, but now works great. Have also put mason jars inside with no issues. Would definitely recommend

I had always been a fan of vacuuming food and saving money. At last I bought the Vacmaster VP112. I have had it almost 2 years and use it every week. I have been able to get at least 40% more in my freezer Here is a tip that nobody else in the reviews mentioned. When we make a large batch of minestrone or chili for example I put the quantity that is enough for two servings into a plastic storage container that will fit into an 8X10 bag and then freeze it. When frozen pop it out of the plastic and into the vacuum bag and into the Vacmaster. Super easy!! When you want to heat it up take it out of the bag while frozen and reheat. Took me this long to figure out that you can cut the vacuum time dramatically by using inserts, so I made myself a set of custom ones. Greg/ Norco, CA.

After much research on vacuum sealers I decided to bite the bullet and get a chamber type. A friend of mine had bought another brand normal sealer and I liked it however I wanted the option of making soups and such without the hassle of trying to get it to not come out of the bag. So after going back and forth on types, we decided on the VP112A since we were getting along with nothing. It has turned out to be one of the best investments we have made. From doing venison sausage to chili and homemade chicken noodle soup this sealer has proved to be large enough for anything we have thrown at it yet compact enough to fit in normal cupboard space in the kitchen.

Very impressed with this product. I was looking for a chamber vacuum sealer for sous vide and bought this when it went on sale. Not only does it work well for sous vide items that include liquid, it allows me to make large portions and store them in my freezer. Easy to use.

Fits my counter perfectly (just) and was surprised to see that wide mouth pint mason jars seem to fit inside the chamber. fyi - they just changed the model to vp112A (no accessory port), which a bit of a shame, but hopefully will hold up better (as guessing the port was causing a lot of user problems)

This is an excellent machine for home use and light commercial use. I've used it to freeze meats, vegetables, and for sauces I've prepared in advance. When used in combination with home canning, preserving, and dehydrating, it adds an important and versatile element to storing foods. I've acquired the vacuum canisters, the meat loading tool, and the stands for filling bags; all of these are great options to have and once you get the hang of using them, it makes the process much easier. I recently stocked up on meats and this machine was perfect for breaking up the packages in to smaller portions for less waste and better storage in my freezers. This is also a handy tool to use for shipping and packaging items you don't want to get wet or leak if travelling. I recently sent several boxes overseas in support of a deployed Service Member and this helped to keep the box small and the bottles of liquids packed from leaking. I've also used it for packing liquids in suit cases to prevent them from leaking during the flight and baggage handling. The variety of bags and the external canisters make it a very useful piece of equipment for a multitude of uses. Well worth the price. It is big and on the heavy side, but its pure quality so don't hesitate on getting one. If you want to break up large bags of food into smaller portions this is the perfect item to have. I plan to do the cook and chill and cook and freeze methods to make some meals for quick cooking during the work week. I also plan to use it for the Sous Vide method of cooking. I love this machine!

Although I was concerned about the lid design, having read that it's prone to breaking, I've not had a single problem with the machine. I have not exactly babied it, either: I once vacuum sealed approximately 80 bags of ground meat in a single afternoon, and it just hummed along the whole time. I've noticed some reviewers complaining about the amount of time required to get a good vacuum. I really recommend getting the set of filler plates for this machine to alleviate that problem. I get good results even with small items at 30 seconds if all of the filler plates are in the chamber. The plate set is inexpensive, saves you time, and I imagine will help extend the life of the machine due to the shorter run times. All in all, a great machine.

While the unit, the accessory hose mechanism popped off. The spring loaded ball that is meant to seal the accessory port popped out before I had even finished unpackaging the unit. As such, the unit was unable to draw a vacuum at all, since the accessory host was unsealed. I repaired this by removing the accessory mechanism entirely (picture of damaged parts posted separately). After this repair, the unit functions very well. However, given the price I paid, I expected the unit to function properly on delivery without requiring immediate service, and I'm disappointed that I will not be able to use the accessory attachment.

Awesome purchase! This has opened my world of vacuum packing...I had been pondering this for a very long time and finally decided to go for it. I have used it for all kinds of food products, sous vide, and even alcohol infusions. The sky's the limit...it's a little big but really does fit under the cabinets and is super simple to use.

Webstaurant store, best price, free shipping can't beat that !! I have had the VP112 for three weeks. My garden is 40' X 60' and I put up a lot of vegetables with no problems what so ever. The number one thing I like about this model is the ability to vacuum seal wet items. With my Foodsaver ( my sixth one ) I blanched the vegetables put them in the vacuum bags, then had to freeze the before sealing them. Now blanch them, bag and seal them, saves so much time and aggrivation. You won't go wrong with this machine.

Up until recently I was a fan of Food Savers. Before I married, I burned out 4 that were considered "Professional" models. After I married, I burned out 2 more. After the last one, I decided it was time for a change. I started to research food vacuums and was introduced to the "chamber vacuum" models. After lots of research, it was quite apparent the best for the money especially, was the ARY VacMaster VP112 for home use. I have never looked back, or been disappointed. This machine eats everything I throw at from clam chowder to large pork and beef ribs. I have never had a single incident of freezer burn, and no problems identifying the food especially if I forget to write what is in the package. There is nothing I have tried to vacuum that this machine won't take. It is especially great for vacuuming soups, stews and chowders, as it does not suck anything into the system. I wished I had bought this machine a long time ago. It could have me a lot of money and headaches! John P.

I have been researching chamber vacuum's for a while and I decided on this one because of all the great reviews. It is a great machine for the money and the bags are so much cheaper than FoodSaver bags. Works great!!!

Very easy to use and looks and feels extremely sturdy. Having to use two hands to open the lid can be a pain sometimes. I have had no problems vac packing over 100 bags in less than a month

Excellent tool. It beats the foodsaver machines hands down. I have gone thru several foodsavers. I buy bulk food and bring it home and break it down into smaller packages for storing

Kudos to WEBstaurant, Quick shipping and safe arrival. I would purchase from this company again. As far as the unit I am very impressed. I am very happy with the automatic mode it is ease of use and the unit provides more than enough PUMP with a good seal. I have not had to adjust the vac/seal times at this point. I have owned ALL the top of the line foodsavor products which are ok for moderate use but if you are one who crosses that fine line this unit is for you. The bags are a FRACTION of the cost in addition you can do liquids. You can achieve the commercial use for what I feel is a very reasonably priced unit.

Great vacuum packing machine that works for both commercial and residential use! It\'s compact but very reliable. I use it for my catering business as well as at home. Great price too!

I love being able store individual portions of prepared foods, especially soups, stews and sauces. The machine is easy to operate and the bags are very sturdy. When I use the pouch clip, I don't get a complete seal. No matter how smooth I have the bag across the seal bar, it gets small wrinkles. Wondering if I can and should remove the clip? On the website, the pouch clip is not pictured.

As an aspiring home chef I purchased the VP112 primarily to use with Sous Vide cooking. Chamber sealers beat suction type sealers hands down and are much better at handling liquid foods. So, to cook meats with marinades a chamber sealer is essential. The VacMaster Sealer pulls a great vacuum, I can easily get 27-28 in of Hg with this sealer on the standard 30 second setting. In addition to using it for sous vide it also does a great job compressing food and infusing fruits and vegetables with everything from syrups to alcohol. This is a sturdy machine that will provide a household chef and perhaps a very small commercial kitchen with many years of use.

Purchased this after a lot of research on different units and bought the VP112 and am very happy with it. Blows away the bag sealer I was using. I find myself using it so much I put it on a cart to easily roll it into the kitchen but now I just keep it parked there. Great unit just be sure to lift the cover as they clearly mark for you to do. This eliminates a lot of comments about the cover breaking which is no doubt why it is now so very visible. i left the decals on the cover as i have grandchildren now taught to use it.

This machine is perfect for the serious home cook. It has a large seal bar and yet does not take up that much space and the price is unbeatable for the quality.

being a chef I work with large vacuum machines the value of this machine is that does such a great job for home use and sous vide cooking with smaller packets. So glad to have purchased .

The VacMaster is awesome. This is the best investment I ever made works perfect. We have tried 2 other food savers and ended up returning them.

Great Price. It works so much better that the small ones do. It works so well I'm considering buying one for my dad. He has a garden and uses a small vac sealer.

This product is the real deal. Heavy, built like a tank, really. Its perfomance is so superior to my FoodSaver, there is just no comparison. If you cook sous vide and want to seal your food, easily, completely, and inexpensively, look no further.

I've been having fun with sous vide cooking and this chamber sealer replaced the Food Saver sealer that I was using because it's so important to be able to use liquids- you do still have to be watchful for spill over (bananas!) but keeping a close eye on it prevents that. Beautiful stainless and I have setup that puts the vacmaster and the heater on a rolling cart- away it goes into the closet!

The vacuum machine is well built, we use a very large machine in our commercial production facility and the final vacuumed products look very similar. The hood mechanism requires two hands to open and close smoothly as the dual hinges allow slight torque to the clear cover that can create tension causing resistants to an otherwise very smooth procedure. I did use the machine for a longer session of 2 hours straight (about 40 bags) with the vac setting set to max 30 seconds and the sealing to max also. After about 90 minutes the machine got quite hot and the sealing mechanism failed to seal the bags therefore product was not vacuum sealed. We often have problems with all of our commercial machines when we run them very hard and this one is no different but after 2 hours of cooling down everything seem to work well again. A couple of things to help with the efficient operation of the vacuum machine, rub a very light vegetable oil on the black gasket to create a better seal, put very slight pressure on the lid for the first couple of seconds of vacuum initiating the seal as this will quicken the removal of air from the chamber. Overall I think it's a great machine for light use around the house or small commercial kitchen.

I should have ordered this a long time ago. I have owned several food saver style vacuum sealers, and always wanted a chamber style. Finally broke down and bought this one, and love it. It is a little heavy, but actually fits in my cabinets, so I don't have to keep on the counter. I do wish the power cord plugged in the side, and not the back, which makes it a little hard to attach and keep on the counter, but that is minor. It does take some practice deciding how long to set the vacuum cycle for depending on what you are sealing. In general, 30 seconds does not give a great seal, so I usually do 45. Of course, if liquid is in the bag, going too long starts it cold boiling, which seems to make getting a good seal more difficult. Using cold liquid helps. My only complaint is the very expensive shipping charges for the bags, so even though some claim the bags are so much less expensive than food saver bags, the shipping costs do cause a bit of concern! Still, I love the product.

Really nice chamber vacuum. Same electronics as the model one level up. Unlike typical vacuum sealers, with a chamber vacuum sealer you can vacuum liquids which lets you make quickly marinade meats and macerate fruits, make quick infusions and pickles.

The Vacmaster has saved me hours of pachaging time and works great. I would recommend this product to anyone that needs vacuum sealing their product. It is very cost effective vs. other comparable units.

I owned and wore out 3 exteranal bag machines over 25 years. Finally bought the VP112 and wished I had done it years ago!! Cheaper bags, Now I can vacuum bag spices and liquids. Great product.

Great vacuum! It is very well designed. It's also very easy to clean up. I spilled some liquid inside the chamber once. All i have to do is just wipe it off.

great vacuum sealer. took me a litte to figure out how to use it properly. but once i did it works great. the chamber seal is awesome. the fact that i can do liquids as well as solids is such a convenience. the only reason i gave this four out of five stars was because of the learning curve it took me to get a great seal on some difficult to vacuum things. but with the optional settings for vacuum time and seal time i was sealing in no time.

When it is working it is great, but it had to be returned to factory twice as it would not seal? Last time it would not remove air from chamber enough to sous vide, which is the reason I went to this line? Frustrating.

The Vacmaster VP112 worked GREAT. We used this it for 4 days at 8 hour intervals and it did wonderful. We were looking for a vaccume sealer that would not over heat and this worked great. Be sure to play around with the settings to get your desired seal and vaccume. We found that that a seal setting of 7 worked the best.

Wish I'd known about the Vacmaster sealer years sooner. We garden and freezer cook. This product is a tremendous help storing our food! We burned out at least 3 of the Food Sealers, thinking it was our only vacuum sealing option, until we starting doing more thorough research. So glad we found this unit. It's not too bulky or unsightly to sit in the corner of my kitchen counter waiting to be of service. We use it on a daily basis.

Got this unit a few days ago after eying one for over a year, since I've gotten into Sous Vide cooking (polyscience pro). Makes sealing sous vide items with liquids now possible. I also now are making stocks with everything. Last night I grilled a 4 lb lobster, then made stock with the shell parts that night and captured all that goodness in 1 cup portions and placed in freezer for when I want to do a bisque or seafood pasta. I'll do the same for 10lbs of beef bones to make my own stock and demi glace. I made a huge batch of chili outside on the fire in my dutch oven, and vacuum sealed individual portions the next day. Makes cooking in bulk a smart thing to do. Already love this unit. Very easy to use, the quality is apparent, and ranks up there with my favorite appliances: Vita Mix blender, Polyscience sous vide pro, Kitchen aid mixer and my Big Steel Keg!

I bought this particular product, because I am doing a good bit of sous vide cooking and I wanted a chamber sealer to replace the Food Saver sealer that I was using. This particular unit is well suited to home use. It fits on a typical two-foot-deep counter top (just barely), and its profile is low enough that it works fine where there is an overhead cabinet. This vacuum sealer is fairly heavy -- over 50 pounds. While it is easy enough to lug around, you should probably plan to leave it on the countertop. It is easy to use, and seals very reliably as long as you take care to keep the area of the bag where the seal is made clean. I usually roll the top of the bag down an inch or so and roll it back up after filling. This device is excellent for sous vide, but I also found that the ability to seal liquids means that I use it a lot just to package leftovers, to package food for freezing, and to repackage foods I have unwrapped to extend their shelf life. Bags come in a wide range of sizes. I haven't tried anything other than the bags sold by the manufacturer, but these are inexpensive -- much less so than Food Saver bags -- and work well. As a final note, this was the first time I ordered from Web Restaurant Store. I placed the order on their Web site and received an e-mail with shipment tracking information within a few hours. I don't run a restaurant, but as a serious home cook, I'm sure I'll do more business here.

Works great. As a small restaurant I was afraid to overspend on the next unit up but was happy to find that this works great for us.

I am very happy with this sealer! It's great, and it's everything I need it to be and everything I expected it to be. The motor in it is powerful enough to do instant compressions and infusions. This is also the perfect tool for low-volume sous vide cooking applications, which is perfect for a personal chef operation like mine. There are a couple of minor problems. First, the product description says "easily portable". I'm not so sure about that. This thing is a freakin' tank. Yes, you can pick it up and move it, but it weighs about 50 pounds and it's about the size of a very large microwave oven. Second problem, again a very minor one, I would prefer the vacuum gauge would give its measurements in percentages. Thomas Keller's sous vide book gives a lot of his recipes in vacuum percentages, so I have to do some experimentation to get the vacuum pressure just right. Not a huge problem, but it would have been nice. Other that that, I would highly recommend this product to anyone who does low-volume vacuum packaging, such as a home user or a very small personal chef business like mine.
