Directions

  1. Bring 6 quarts of water and 4 teaspoons of salt to a boil.

  2. Add barley flakes and reduce heat.

  3. Cover and cook for about 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Remove from heat and let stand for 2 minutes.

  5. Serve with milk, honey, or fresh fruit. Makes 16 servings.
