Meat Slicers

There are many factors to consider while shopping for the perfect meat slicer, including blade size, horsepower, ease of sanitation and more! Increase your business' productivity by browsing the meat slicer selection today.

Knowing how to clean and maintain your Avantco slicer is essential for extending its lifespan! Be sure to wear protective gloves when cleaning your slicer.

For best results, use our meat slicer safety cleaning kit. First, set your blade thickness to 0, and use a gentle scrub pad on the cleaning wand to wipe the blade while the slicer is on. Now, unplug your slicer and close the gauge plate. Remove the product tray, slice deflector, and center plate to clean them separately.

Next, use the Avantco blade removal tool, wipe down the exterior, grip the blade and clean the front and back with Formula-D degreaser. Then mist QuikSan sanitizing spray on the machine. You can also use LubriQuik on the table slide rod and end-weight slide rod to keep them moving smoothly.

In addition, you should sharpen the blade every 2 weeks. To do this, loosen the bolt on the built-in sharpener. Turn the sharpener 180 degrees so it rests over the blade, and tighten the bolt. Turn the slicer on, and press the rear sharpening button 1 minute at a time. Once it’s sharp, press the front finishing button to smooth the edge. Then simply turn off the unit, return the assembly to its original position, and tighten it into place. Your slicer is now ready for use!

Picking out the right commercial meat slicer for your business is an important choice. That’s why we’ve broken down the key factors to consider when shopping for the one that’s right for you. First, consider how frequently you plan to use your slicer. For light duty work, about an hour or less per day, an entry level slicer will work fine. The next step up is our mid-tier models, which offer more power and durability for several hours of use per day, at a price point affordable for most businesses. Finally, premium meat slicers are the best of the best, in terms of strength, durability, and consistency, giving you unmatched power that will stand up to constant daily use. Next, find whether you need an automatic or a manual slicer. Automatic units move product back and forth against a blade for safe and efficient high volume slicing. But for the average deli or sandwich shop, a manual meat slicer will do the trick. These units are probably what you’re most familiar with, requiring an operator to manually slide products across the blade for slicing. Other factors to consider when shopping for a meat slicer include blade size, horsepower, and ease of sanitation. We offer models with various blade sizes and power options, including many that are NSF listed. If you’re looking for more deli or butcher shop products, take a look at our selection of food paper wrap and deli take out containers.

Avantco slicer automatic unit functions bill commercial fits hours point
We have owned an Avantco SL713MAN for some time, recently upgrading to an automatic slicer. Note that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the Avantco. In fact, it's quite the opposite. We moved to an automatic slicer for efficiency, but the Avantco has served us well and will be moving to a lower capacity spot. What I can tell you about the Avantco is that A) it is durable and B) it is a joy to work with. In regard to point A, the Avantco has stood up to commercial abuse for 1000s of hours. It has needed maintenance, but one should expect as much. Blade replacement and machine lubrication are easy to handle yourself (directions clearly walk one through the process). Through the hours of work, the Avantco still looks new and, more importantly, functions as such. As to point B, having a unit function near flawlessly whenever called upon, is enough to make me happy. But in a commercial setting, the most important ability is availability, and the Avantco fits the bill perfectly. If you are looking for a unit that will save you both time and money, the Avantco SL713MAN fits the bill. I highly recommend this unit, and if I didn't require an automatic slicer, no other slicer would be on my radar. Read Less Read More
