How to Season a Pan

For a carbon steel pan, start by washing, rinsing, and drying the pan. Heat the pan on your range on medium to high heat, then add shortening to the pan. Use a clean dry towel to spread the shortening around the interior of the pan, creating an even coat. Remove the pan from the heat, wipe out the excess shortening and let it cool. You can repeat this process up to 3 more times. For a cast iron skillet, preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking pan with aluminum foil and set aside. Wash, rinse, and dry your skillet. Place the skillet in the oven for 15 minutes. Remove and coat the entire skillet with shortening, inside and out. Place the skillet in the oven for 45 minutes with the baking pan on a rack below it to catch any mess. You can repeat this process up to three more times.

Hand washing is always the best option to ensure that your aluminum stays in best working order.     Great pans for the price. The only issue we have (which is slight) is that the last order we ordered four more, and received two different rims. Not a deal breaker by any means, but when inter stacking for storage they don't sit flush with other pans.
    These pans are perfect. No need to spend tons of money on Wilton or other name brands. These are just as sturdy and get the job done.
    The 12" round aluminum cake pan is awesome! It cooks evenly, and doesnt creat a domed center or even a sucken center. I highly recommend!

    I purchased these 12" pans for the bottom tier of a 3-tier cake I made recently. They were great quality and I highly recommend them. I will be buying more in other sizes. I prefer them to the Wilton brand ones I used previously.
    When i had to choose between this pan from the rest they had, I was worried because it aluminum and not coated, the cake will stick and the pan wont be as good for cakes. But i still ordered because the price difference between others and i need variety of sizes. But the pan is perfect. the cake comes out smoothly.

    These pans are awesome. They are thick, sturdy, and easy to clean. I haven't had any problems with cake sticking. I use them all the time for weddings.

    These pans are super durable and are great height for our 3 layer cakes. We buy a few at at a time, but I would I would recommend these for your larger cake needs!
    I used this pan first without a heating core and the second time with a heating core and I actually preferred not using the heating core which is great because it actually saves me time and hassel.. which is what the heating core is SUPPOSE to do, but whatevs. Great pans!

    I have purchased several different cake pans, but these are my favorites by far. I own 8", 9", 10" and now this, the 12" size. My cakes bake so evenly and release from the pans with ease. They are very sturdy, clean up so easily and I'm sure to get years of use out of them. Very reasonably priced too!
    Great pan for a great price! These pans have straight sides and clean up extremely easy. Hand washing is recommended to keep them in a "just purchased" state.
    Been holding up well for our deep dish pizzas. Make sure you season well before use. Since seasoned, the pizza doesn't stick and releases from the pan very easily.
    I ordered several of these in various sizes. They seem like good pans. They are lightweight but I have used other lightweight pans. This one though arrived with a dent in it. The dent is on the bottom so I'm worried it may affect the look of a cake.
    This pan is huge and I would be using it to make a two layered birthday cake next coming weekend. This will be my first time making a cake this size. Excited to play around with this size pan and the serving sizes.
