Today, we will be demonstrating the set-up and use of Follett Ice Pro. After your Ice Pro is installed, pull the metal lever to open the dispense chute to allow room for loading the bags. The Ice Pro requires wicketed bags. To load the bags, adjust the pins to align with the bag wicket. Remove the rubber stoppers and insert. Press the bags onto the pins. Discard both the wicket and the rubber stoppers. Then, lower the dispense chute. The drain pan is attached by inserting the tabs into the slots on the bag stand. The bags should lightly curve and rest on the drain pan. Ice Pro will accept a variety of bag sizes. Common bag sizes are 8 and 20 pounds. If consistently using different bag sizes, you may want to consider purchasing an extra bag hanger bracket. That way, you can easily keep bags organized on pins when changing bag sizes. It's important to install the bags first, so you can line up the drain pan with the bottom of the bag. The drain pan supports the bag while it's being filled. If the drain pan is too low, the bag will fall off. As long as you are not changing bag sizes, leave the drain pan in place. If you need to change bag sizes, you can easily remove and reattach the drain pan. Use the control panel to manage the flow of ice. The "open bag" button turns on a fan that will automatically open the first bag. Pressing the "manual" button will release ice as long as you hold it down. As will pressing the foot pedal. The manual button can also be used to top off the bag if it doesn't fill completely. Ice Pro fills by timed dispense, not by sensing weight. Set the timer to dispense the appropriate amount of ice. Many wicketed bags have a fill line to indicate that level. When you initially set the timer, you can weigh the bag to make sure it is filled correctly. Pressing the timed button will dispense ice for the amount of time indicated on the display. You can change the timer with the up and down arrows. It will generally take between 3.5 and 6 seconds to fill an 8 pound bag, depending on dispenser and ice type. Once each bag is filled, you can use either a c-clamp stapler, twist ties, or a tape dispenser to seal the bag. After you remove the first bag, press the timed button to dispense ice into the next bag. Then clamp the first bag while the next bag is filling. This will save time and labor. Now, you are ready to begin bagging. Using Ice Pro, you can fill 6 to 8 bags per minute, 85% faster than manual bagging. Fill your cart, wheel it to your freezer, and come back for more.
