  Spiral Mixers come with a spiral-shaped agitator that remains stationary, and the bowl moves around it. They're mainly used for mixing large amounts of dough.
  
  Vertical Cutter Mixers consist of a large covered mixing bowl, a high horsepower motor, and an interior agitator that lets them perform a variety of functions. They are primarily used in high volume, bulk production applications.
