Tomato paste is great for thickening tomato based sauces! It is good for adding body to a stock when you roast bones smothered in tomato paste!!

I love using tomato paste to help intensify the tomato flavor and it even helps to thicken sauces for pasta and pizzas. This tomato paste is also a great price.

I have been ordering the San Benito brand tomato paste from the Webstaurant store, but the last time I ordered they were not offering it, and I took a chance on this similarly priced Port Royal Premium Tomato Paste. I was pleasently surprised to find that it is far superior to the San Benito, with less water content, and a smooth fluffy texture that is consistent through out the whole #10 can without the water pockets that existed with the San Benito. I was worried the Port Royal Premium Tomato Paste it would be an inferior product to the San Benito, but I am pleased to today be ordering it again. I highly recommend over the San Benito that is similarly priced.
