Takes accurate temperature readings of the ambient air and hot surfaces. In contrast, for hot beverages, liquids, and hot glass mugs does not work. Those items require a probe thermometer.

This thermometer is okay but doesn't read accurately all of the time. It's a great price but definitely not one of our favorite products. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone

Thank you for your review! We're sorry to hear your thermometer didn't take accurate readings. For a more accurate thermometer, try this Taylor Dual Temp Infrared Thermometer with Probe.

I am very disappointed with this Thermometer. It came in just a couple days before our inspection. Found out it wasn’t reading correctly. Then I tried to change battery and the tiny splinter of plastic that you attach the lanyard to snapped off when I tried to get the silicone skin bask on.

This is one of them multi use tools, we use it to check all the food temps and it is very accurate. We even use this to check temps on Beer Kegs, has a cord to fit right around your neck so you don't lose it!!

Love this infrared thermometer. Anyone who has ever needed to check hot or cold temperatures in a hurry should have this. Although it may not be as accurate as a probe thermometer, it is far quicker.

Seems neat, my manager asked for this item. Makes checking temps a breeze. Fast response time, easy to use. The included strap is a nice touch.

This is a great little tool. Quick easy temperatures of all applicances and you will even discover your hotter or colder zones in your applicanes. My co-workers think I am dangerous with this tool. I love it.

How did I temper chocolate before I got this thermometer?! I love the compact size and reasonable price. I use it mainly for chocolate and it makes my life much easier. I would recommend this product for any application where you need an infrared thermometer. The only issue I have is that the protective sleeve is a bit tight to pull on, but you have to do that only when changing the batteries. (Note: I haven't had the product long enough to review battery life.) And be sure to hold on to the instructions because using the functions is very easy, but it helps to have a list of what they are.

Great light weight and easy to slip in your pocket. I use it to check water temperatures, soups and sauces. It is very accurate. I would definitely recommend this product.

My classic stick thermometer stopped working this season. I decided to try infrared. It works great! It seems to be very accurate. I used it to temper chocolate. Buy it!

Great for chocolate tempering among other things. The thermometer never will get messy because it never touches chocolate. It is very accurate when reading temperatures.
