By Jeremy Leong This is a heavy duty (~25lbs for the base itself) bar height table leg. The base as well as mounting spider of this leg is made of cast iron, and the main shaft is a 3" diameter hollow tube. Overall, it's strong enough to support a heavy granite counter top remnant (26"x36"x~1") without wobbling. The hollow tube shaft, spider and base is set into place by a long rod which is threaded on one side (see instruction manual online. The foot rest ring is sold separately, and highly recommended for this type of bar height table. It would be nice if the shaft is either slightly thicker in material, or contains top and bottom end-caps to help center the internal support connection rod, but for this price, it does what it needs to do. Will definitely buy this item again!
By Jeremy Leong This heavy duty foot ring slides on to the bottom of the table shaft. It also contains a "keyed" (three indentations) end-cap that matches up with the X-base, so that the ring does not swivel around after installation. For the 42" bar-height table setup, I highly recommend this foot ring; it is very strong, and adds an extra touch to these tables |
