high quality construction. I've been looking at the retail type of pots and pans, caphalon, cuisenart, etc.... I always find gaps in where the handles connect to the pan and other flaws that make me walk away, plus they are very expensive.
this commercial cookware is very inexpensive by comparison and the quality is so much better than the so called "high end" pseudo-commercial stuff.
no need to ever look at the retail brands again, this is great!

The Vollarath Intrigue Series is awesome. This pan compares favorably to the Sitram Profiserie series. It looks almost identical, having the type of handle, the same quality of welds, and the same type of disc bottom (it doesn't fully extend to the edge). The difference is that the Vollrath is considerably heavier and the bottom appears to be about 30% thicker.
For a home cook, this makes a great second frypan--I use the 9 3/8 for smaller things and a 12 inch for larger.
