We have purchased 4 of these units for our church and 1 for ourselves. Will be purchasing 2 more for ourselves. They work great and are perhaps the best for the price and brewing quantity. You will have to periodically clean the heating hole in the middle. It will work much better. Brew Time: Up to 60 cups about 45 minutes. Over 60 cups up to 70 minutes. We grind our own coffee. We mix 3 different brands and use the following amounts: For every 20 cups of water add 1 cup (8 oz.) then 1 additional for a total of 16 oz.. Example-20 cups of water: would=2 cups of ground coffee. Example-80 cups of water: would=5+ cups of ground coffee. Example-100 cups of water: would=6-7 cups of ground coffee. DO NOT USE STARBUCKS GROUND COFFEE in this machine. It will clog everything. Most types of finely ground/bitter coffee will clog this machine. Some of our friends use a pinch of salt when brewing. If you are going to have the coffee sit for a while before use, suggest that you remove the grinds. Use a hot pad and dump into a double lined trashed container. We pour filtered water into the units the night before, premeasure the ground coffee into an air tight container and then just before we turn on the brewers, dump the ground coffee in the brewing basket. Saves a tremendous amount of set-up time the day of the event. Use proper extensions / receptacles -designed for proper amperage / wattage. They work better that way! I can't say enough about the ease of use of this brewer. Enjoy!
