By Charles Rook This is my 3rd Bunn coffee maker. The first two were big box store, home versions. The first two were great machines, but both started to leak water a couple years into using them, due to the lesser quality of a home version, and all the plasstic parts. I knew I wanted to replace this last unit with another Bunn, but this time I wanted a unit that would stand up to YEARS of service. Both previous units were Carafe style units, so the new one had to be also. I ordered my new unit on a Tuesday, and it was delivered on Friday (residential). I love the heft of this machine (quality parts) and all the nice Stainless Steel parts (very few plastic parts). Being familiar with Bunn, setup was a snap. I ran several cycles of water through the unit before brewing our first pot of coffee. First pot of brewed coffee was amazingly good, AND HOT. Makes me wonder if the home version wasn't heating the water as well. I actually set the thermostat back just a little (I live in higher elevation) and it's perfect now. Yes, this commercial version has a thermostat that can be adjusted, very nice. I purchased a Heavy Duty wall timer for plugging this into, so it didn't have to be on 24/7. I got this timer at a big box hardware store. It works very well! Now my water is hot and ready to go when I get up in the morning, off while at work, ready again when I get home from work, but off through the night. This might help reduce electricity, and extend the life of this unit. Time will tell. I purchased a carafe and filters with this unit, but I will write my review for them on each of the products. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase, even as a commercial unit used as a home unit. Thanks WEBstaurant! I will be a repeat customer. |
