I normally use these to mix very small batches of test formulations. However I've found they are awesome for storing small amounts of condiments for, say, a packed lunch. My formulations often have to be heated, so I love that these are microwave safe. Out of the hundreds I've used so far, I've only had 2 of these melt, but it was because I stepped away from the microwave and they were warming too long. I've not had any issues with melting with the 2 oz size and am impressed by the heat capacity of both sizes. They are very sturdy and made of thick plastic. Not like the small flimsy ones I was expecting. The lid stays on very well and is fairly leak proof for thicker ingredients. I've found that some lower viscosity ingredients like water will leak a little bit if the container gets tossed around too much, but I've never had an issue with things like ketchup, ranch, or cream consistency ingredients. Plus I can't think of a lot of reasons to carry around souffle cups full of water. This holds 30 ml comfortably, measured with a 15 ml measuring spoon. 30 ml is approximately 2.03 tablespoons. For reference, the average shot glass is about 44 ml, so just about 1/3rd smaller than that. I find photographing things next to a quarter helps show its size.
