JT Eaton Top Loader

JT Eaton Top Loader

My name is James, and I’m with JT Eaton, and I’m demonstrating our top loader, item #902. The top loader, what makes it a really great station is its versatility. I’m going to show you how this top loader works. It holds a lot of bait inside of it, and to put on the bait, all you’re doing is threading this and putting your bait on. It’s gravity-fed, so as the rats or mice start to knaw on this, what they’re going to do is it’s just going to continue to drop down. One other thing that mice have the tendency to do, and even small rats, is what they’ll do is they’ll go up into the tube and start feeding off of it that way. The other thing that makes it a unique design as opposed to other stations is if you look right through these baffles, you’ll still be able to see the bait. So if you can see it, a rat or a mouse can see it. They can see the exit, so they’re more likely to go inside of it. If you can see in front of it, and you can see the back of it, there are no turns that a mouse has to make, or a rat has to make. They’re just going to go right through it. This is the internal baffle system on it. It’s a little bit of a zig zag for the rat to go in or the mouse to go in, but it still sees that bait. It still sees that bait as it falls through. So the rats feed off of that, or go up in there and start to feed, and then enter and exit a station without any problem. Now we did one better for this station, and what it is is it’s an answer to a common problem, mice or rats. What happens is you have feed (rats need water, most of the time they have a food source whether it’s in a tree, whether it’s garbage, whether it’s inside of a structure, but they may have limited access to water) so what we did is we created a liquid feed system that’s gravity-fed, kind of like a hamster feeder. What you’re doing is you’re putting your liquid bait inside of here, filling it up, dropping it down, and the same principal is the rat will come inside of here, mouse will come inside of here and feed off of the liquid bait. Liquid bait is economical, and when you’re talking a farm situation where there are grains and there’s a lot of fruit or nuts, you can mount one of these in a tree. There’s so many ways to actually mount this one. We installed two mounting brackets, so if you wanted to tie it off to something, you can tie it to a fence. We installed two tabs on that, and that’s so if you had a fence and they’re running along the fence line, you can actually screw it right into the fence. If you needed to mount it in soil, you can use your traditional rod that fits inside of there. The Earth anchor is another way you can do it. You can install the Earth anchor on here, and then pound your anchor into the soil nice and tight, holds in. the other advantage is glue. If you wanted to glue it down, what I suggest, is put a little bit more glue on these tabs right here on the bottom, because what that does is it allows glue to penetrate inside and outside of the station so it stays put. But you have this full surface to glue it down if you needed to glue it down. I’m going to mount our top loaded with our 914 anchor. It has two tabs on the side of our top loader. Look for sprinklers first before you hit it in. Hit it all the way down, and give it a little twist on the end when you’re done on the cotter pin, that locks it in place. Then it won’t be able to lift up. You can duplicate the same thing on the other side. We have a unique situation where you have mostly asphalt and you need to strap it down right away, so use this zip tie, wrap it around the fence. Now your station’s not going to go anywhere. Cut off the excess to what looks good. That’s it, you’re ready to rock and roll. If you have rats running up pipes, you can strap it in right where the rats are running. Bait stations below aren’t going to do any good because the rats found the pipe, they’re going up into building. Do a zip tie, put it right in the run path, and that should solve the problem. Look for rub marks, look for other activity, and you’re done.

Ideal for indoor or outdoor use, the JT Eaton 902 black top load bait station has two large entry holes to accommodate mice or rats! Great for large mice infestations, it can be placed on floors or easily mounted to tree limbs, fences, and other fixtures that larger rodents may use to invade your business (mounting hardware sold separately). A vertical, top-loading bait holder will store 1/2 lb. of JT Eaton Bait Block to lure in mice and other rodents.

This station's small footprint makes it ideal for indoor use in non-sensitive areas and a baffle system makes it "tamper-resistant," providing added security and protection against curious children or pets. bait bars mice rod stations top hang filled Easy down

We had mice getting into the boxes in our attic and shed. Nothing worked until I bought two of these bait stations and filled them with One Bite Bars. Easy to use, the provided key removes the screw to open the top. Bait bars are threaded onto a rod to hang from the top. As the mice crawl through to chew on the bait, more bait slides down the rod. Safe for kids and pets. Haven't seen a mouse for years! I check the stations every week or so and refill when needed.
