Paraclipse Pest Control Buying Guide
Due to increased awareness and recent crackdowns by the FDA and local heath inspectors, people are finding that insect control is becoming a top priority in the food service industry. Pests carry diseases such as e-coli, salmonella, and many other dysentery diseases that can be very harmful to people, which makes it important to control them.
The FDA and USDA have setup a 5’ rule for all traps that electrocute (zap) insects, or inject a spray of insecticides into the room. Since none of our Paraclipse units use a chemical spray, or a shocking device, we don’t fall under the 5’ rule. This makes our products ideal for the food industry. Our units use UV light to attract flies, and once lured to the trap, it is stuck to the glue that also contains food scent and sex pheromones. It is recommended that these UV bulbs be changed every 7 months.
All UV traps utilize a type of glue board that traps the insects. What makes our product different is that all of our units use a patented auto advancing cartridge system that is always bringing up fresh glue. Once the cartridge has run its course, all of the flies are encapsulated in the end. Just replace the cartridge and it is ready to go again. No dealing with messy glue boards and touching dead flies. It takes less than 1 minute to change the cartridge. All Paraclipse units also have an audible alarm that lets a person know when the cartridge is done, and needs to be replaced.
Our Insect Inn Ultra II and Fly Patrol units are the most decorative units on the market today. These units are ideal for dinning areas and places where a person might have customer traffic. The top consists of a UV reflecting paint which directs more of the light into the room. This also makes it almost impossible for the customer to see the dead flies inside. Many customers will not even notice it is a fly trap, and will think of it as a decorative wall sconce. The Insect Inn Ultra II uses a 60 day cartridge and can cover an area of about 800 sq ft. The Fly Patrol uses a 30 day cartridge, and can cover about 400 sq. ft.
Our more industrial unit is the Terminator . This unit is ideal for use in kitchens, prep areas, meat and poultry processing plants, and all other back of the house areas. This unit also comes with two 4’ chains and can be suspended from the ceiling. The Terminator utilizes a 60 day cartridge and takes less than 1 minute to service. This unit will cover about 2500 sq ft.
