Customer Q&A Ask a Question

What's the difference between a #1 can opener and a #2 can opener?
Both #1 and #2 can openers can open the same types of cans, and operate in a similar manner. A #2 can opener is a bit smaller, with a shorter handle that may require more turns to open the same can. A #1 can opener is larger and features a more heavy-duty construction. As a result, it's capable of opening more cans per day. opener cans Great open base price works Easy Edlund buy

I think I found the lowest price manual can opener that comes with free base. it looks good, but I have to figure out how to install it first

These go for so much more at other places. We have had it for a year now and it's still going strong. We are truly happy with this can opener.

This is a terrible product. Worked great for a couple of weeks and then the gear stopped grabbing the can and it became useless, creating shavings, even after changing the blade. If you open more than 5 cans a day, don't bother with this one. It's cheap, heavy and not warrantied. I have registered complaints and will be throwing it in the trash when I get my new Edlunds.

You can go ahead and buy an Edlund brand can opener, or you can buy this one for a fraction of the price and it does exactly the same thing for years

I purchased this unit, installed the base plate and attempted to use it then found out that the bar does not fit into the base. after about a week of emails and sending pictures they sent me a new base plate which then did fit. It worked "ok" for about a couple weeks but not after almost 2 months it hardy grabs the cans and mostly just spreads metal shavings everywhere. i thought because of the good review score it got it wast worth saving the money on getting this cheap unit. I replaced a 2o year old edlund unit cause it was just old and beat up and needed all new parts, Now i wish we kept the old unit do i could rebuild it, i am not purchasing a new can opener.

This can opener is mediocre. It is built well however It is quite picky on what cans it wants to open. The teeth don't always bite into the can and it has a tendency to slip. It does fit into the standard table mounted base.

Garbage, I ordered 3 in 1 year (2 in late August, now in mid October I'm ordering another brand!), our last one worked for 5 years before breaking(probably not this brand). We do maybe 20 #10 cans per week. Both of these did not rotate the can right out of the box. One broke apart when I tried to disassemble it to check it's alignment and gear, so couldn't return that one. Had a need for something to open cans so struggled with the other. If I strong arm the can and forcfully rotate the can while turning the handle, it takes me about 1-2 minutes per can, and it looks like a 1st grader tried to open it, can destroyed and metal shards everywhere. I ended up buying a small home use hand can opener to get just get by. Now this thing opens MAYBE 1 can out of 50 without having to really work at it. And it won't even open them completely, we have to pry 30% of the can open. Swapped blades, turned blades, lubed gear, nothing. Do not buy. When I notified customer service in chat...nothing. You know, they say on the website they have a 90 warranty...but for some reason...everyone just tells me to buy another one...

This can opener is very reliable heavy duty, perfect if you have to open a lot of number ten cans. We have it already for 5 years.

I've had this can opener for just a few weeks. I bought it to replace my old No. 2 size can opener. This one is a little bigger and seems to be as good as any one I've had in the past. Including the name brands.

    No. 1 Can Opener

This can-opener is simply OK. Some cans it seems to open flawlessly and others it struggles with. It pierces the can well and easily, but sometimes if a can has a tiny dent in it, the opener is totally useless. I'd say this can opener is nothing higher than average.

Beast of a can opener! It does a number on our #10 cans. I don't know what we did with those massive cans before we had this guy. Definitely need to get the base plate for its functionality.

We had an old can opener and it was time to switch to a new one. This was the perfect one. Sharp and open cans very well and easily.

This is the best can opener. It takes a good beating and it's easy to take apart for cleaning. If you keep up on the maintenance it'll last you forever.

My fellow restaurant owners do not waist your money and your time with this item because this is a junk. I really really mean it.

The #1 Can Opener without Base is durable and very easy to use. We have been opening at least 10-15 cans a day and it's still as sharp as the day we got it.

    from Rita N Posted on

Good industrial can opener. Durability of this can opener seems to be very good. Blade has remained sharp after a lot of use and has not bent at all. Handle is strong and has remained tight.

from Ken's Pizza Corner - Brighton Posted on

Very durable. Easily open between 25 and 30 cans a day and it never misses beat. Solid constructed can opener. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good can opener.

    from Morrison Posted on

Solid large can opener. Crank works flawlessly and I have not had one problem with the blade and dullness. We use it about 20 times a day.

from Plan 9 Alehouse Posted on

Awesome price on this can opener! I've been using it daily for several months and it is holding up great. A heck of alot easier than my little hand opener!

    from CG's Pizza Posted on

This is a good light duty can opener. If you are opening a couple cans a day this is all you will need if you do more than that go for the #2 can opener.
