We use this pastry brush for our flat top griddle. It is adequate for our needs although I think there can be more bristles for better coverage. However, the low price the WebstaurantStore sells it for makes it a great buy!

We use these brushes daily for our home made pies and they work great. The 3" size is nice to cover an area faster. Easy to clean.

This is a great basting brush for those big pieces of meat you are needing to cover larger sections at a time! London broil is no problem with this basting brush.
Scott W. Posted on 12/14/2016
Main use is for butter, or egg wash, sometimes a soy sauce glaze for fish and chicken, the brush works well, and no bristles to clean!
David H. Posted on 12/08/2016
We used these brushes for the flat top grill, and while they held up to the heat, the design didn't allow for much even coverage.

This larger size brush works perfect to brush thick pieces of bread or cakes with butter we use it for corn bread with butter and honey.
Marshall R. from H&H CITY PIZZA Posted on 10/25/2016
Actually bought these for use with heavy sauces which they are great for but surprisingly they're pretty decent with lighter liquids - bristle might still be better for pastries but this brush isn't too bad and is definitely the best silicone brush I've used.
Mark S. from Roko's Restaurant (Samoa) Posted on 08/25/2016
we use this to brush butter onto our panini bread before grilling. Doesn't work as well as a bristle brush but is much easier to clean.

I use this brush all the time... for grilling, not for baking. I make teriyaki sauce and brush it over chicken skewers; it's great It's a lot easier to clean (toss in the dishwasher) than my regular pastry brush, it picks up thick liquids really well, and the hook on the side is so handy for preventing the brush from slipping down.

This brush is so great. It's durable and has held up well. It is easy to wash and because of the silicone, you don't have to worry about it getting smelly. It's a great buy!

I love this brush. Normally these silicone brushes are garbage not holding anything. These little bristles and ridges seems to really hold the sauce or whatever you're using. Definitely recommend.

perfect for brushing bbq sauce over ribs, clean up nice n easy as well. my wife also use it for brushing melted butter on items.
Nick S. Posted on 05/05/2016
I purchased the 3" Carlisle silicone pastry brush. This brush is great with the extra wide surface. It cleans easily and the fibers stay firm.
Evan B. from Jack & Alice LLC. Posted on 03/25/2016
This pastry brush may not have traditional looks, but it works great. The silicone surface and unique shape of the bristles help hold liquids when basting, but also allows for easy clean up at the end of the day.
Andy N. Posted on 02/26/2016
Needed a pastry brush but not with regular bristles due to safety reasons. Carlisle makes good quality brushes and this has a hook to hold to sides of things.
Steven G. Posted on 01/05/2016
The idea of silicone pastry brush is brilliant. However, shape of the bristle is a bit odd and it leaves its mark when I brushed top of a homemade bread loaf with some honey. It would be great to be able to get a silicone pastry brush but with just straight bristle.

This is a must for saucing hot items in the smoker or on the grill. he extra inch allows more coverage of large items. The hook on the side is handy when dealing with deeper containers of sauce.
Tiferet C. from Sweetie's Cafe & Catering Posted on 12/31/2015
These wide brushes are very useful for lots of applications in our kitchen. The silicone is heat proof and easy to clean, and the handles are durable.
Michael P. from Mike's Mindful Plate Posted on 12/17/2015
I bought this to put a glaze on bbq ribs and it works great for that task. Its easy to clean and has a hook on the side to hang it on a bowl.

We recently switched to these brushes and moved away form the standard bristle style brushes. The brushes have 2 major advantages. they clean up very easily and they do not lease small bristles on the food.
David B. from Q Barbeque Posted on 09/15/2015
Perfect for brushing on a sauce to your roast, or move butter around your saute pan, excellent heat resistance. Easy to clean, and sturdy in the dishasher
Daniel S. Posted on 03/09/2015
We should've switched to silicone basting brushes long ago! Our restaurant sells a lot of ribs and after one too many comps for "hairs" that came from the bristle brushes we'd been using, I finally decided to switch to silicone. The brush holds the sauce very well and it stands up to the heat of the grill. We're never going back!
Amber C. Posted on 03/05/2015
Durable and useful. It washes well. I've used this for spreading glaze on cakes. I prefer the control of natural bristle brushes better, but the silicone brush is more durable and handles heat and dishwashers much better.
Betina J. Posted on 07/09/2014
When you think of 3 inches, you think of something relatively small, but this item was larger than I had imagined. Regardless of that fact, it is very useful and versatile. Just make sure you check the size you need, this is not a petite tool.
Gina E. Posted on 05/29/2014
This is an excellent substitution for a boar bristle brush. Its a must have for any type of brush work from washes to spreading BBQ sauce on meats. I love the fact that it doesn't lose bristle like the other brushes available on the market.
Matthew T. Posted on 04/29/2014
as soon as I received I wanted to test the heat ability and boy was I surprised. Past silicone brush have not held up and this brush does the trick. Grillers love the feel and ease of cleaning the brush at end of shift.
Angela L. Posted on 04/24/2014
We got this for several uses and have found that it works best to brush olive oil on our dough before it goes into the cooler to age. I like that it cleans so easily! And did you notice that they hang on the edge of the bowl? Nice!
Michael L. from Michael's Pizza Posted on 07/08/2013
Use it to oil bread on a hot griddle. Doesn't hold as much oil as a boar-hair brush, but I can foresee this lasting forever. You can touch this on the hot griddle and it isn't phased in the least bit.

These brushes are great for basting items while cooking because they silicone holds liquid long enough to properly baste! I like them for egg washing items!!
Eric K. Posted on 11/01/2012
I prefer these silicon bristled brushes to traditional brushes any day. They hold barbecue and other sauces very well and cleaning is a breeze. Both the 3" and 2" are great products!
Michael J. from The Pie Kitchen Posted on 10/17/2012
This brush is SO much better than a traditional bristle brush. The silicone tassels have enough room between them to make cleaning easy. The knobby texture holds the sauce you're brushing on very well. Again, this is WAY better than a tradtional bristle brush.

Another great Carlisle Brush. This time this silicons Pastry brush will work on all desserts. My mom even tried this product and she wants some for her house. LOL
Tristan M. from Tristan's Posted on 03/30/2012
These silicone brushes are the best. We comped a few meals and really struggled finding a brush that would withstand sticky barbecue sauce and a hot grill. These are the only ones that have ever worked. Love them!
