This basic but functional, Carlisle 40379 3" Sparta Meteor bright white boar bristle pastry / basting brush with hook can be used for coating fluffy fresh baked pastries with butter, egg wash, or water, or for coating meats with delicious marinades and sauces. It is made with soft, flagged white boar bristles that are double boiled, bleached, and sterilized to insure the highest quality and sanitization, and are molded into the brush's base to prevent bacteria. To clean, simply dip the brush in a commercial cleaning solution. Its durable construction can withstand temperatures reaching 500 degrees. A hook has been crafted onto the outside of the base allowing the brush to hang on the lip of crocks or other containers, preventing contamination and bristle burn, melt, or distortion, often resulting from resting against hot pan bottoms. The Carlisle 40379 boar bristle pastry brush has a 3" brush width and a 7" handle with an oval loop at its end for easy storage. Made in the USA.

If you're looking for a wide pastry brush - then look no further! This is a favorite of mine as it makes quick work of brushing pastry dough with egg wash, butter, or water (as the case may be). It is dishwasher safe, and as will all bristled brushes, I like to gently tug at the bristles before each use to make sure none are loose.

these are the best brushes that we were able to find. We are using them every day and they hold up well to the daily use. They don't loose their hair like other brands did. Since we are using them on a daily basis we change them out for new ones every 3-6 months.

Perfect to butter fresh out of the over loaves. Held enough butter to need only initial dip. Brush had no loose hairs. Easy to clean.

We have this brush on our flat top in a pan of drawn butter. for toast and sandwiches The bristles have held up nicely to a lot of use and abuse. You can brush the grill directly and the bristles don't burn or melt. It can get knocked off the hook fairly easily, but other than that it's a good brush.

I use this brush a lot. I love the little hook on the side. The bristles are soft which makes basting and brushing easy business.

Great wide and soft bristle brush - the hook is great for sanitary storage in between uses hang it on a 1/6th pan - the bristles will melt on high heat

These are wonderful and i love the little hook to hang it on a pan. The bristles are light enough that it does not deflate my proofed rolls and they hold a surprising amount of liquid. Love love love this.

Man, I really wanted to buy the more expensive version of this, but common sense prevailed. It works great, and the hook on the side of it keeps it out of the butter spread that we use. NOT very heat resistant - it melts pretty quickly on heat.

Used with a 1/6 food pan and oil. So far no hairs have come out after many washes. The little hook is a good feature to avoid leaving a mess.

Awesome brush! Very well built and sturdy. The bristles are well attached, and don't come out. Also, being Boar Bristle, they hold up well to heat, so great for oiling our flattop griddle.

I use this product on a daily basis and it has been great. The best part of it is the hook feature. It really sets this product a part from its competition.

We use these for oil, egg wash, and garlic butter in preparing our pizza products every day. The life of the product has far exceeded what I expected for the price. The hook on the side is awesome, especially when we start out with a full pan of product.

These are great. I worked in the bakeshop at a hotel and i was constantly making breads and pies etc... I used this brush all the time to coat everything in an eggwash or milk. Great buy.

The 3" is a great value for the money. The brush is big enough for applying bbq sauce to ribs for glazing. Very happy with the quality.
