Well, it appears that the Great Blizzard of 2010 (or Snowpocalypse or Snowmageddon or whatever) is finally over. Whew. Lancaster County here in Pennylvania was hit hard: first by 20+ inches over the weekend, then hit by about another 19-20 inches Tuesday in Wednesday. In short, we are buried!
Our customer service and IT folks have fared pretty well, as they were able to perform many of their duties from their snowed-in houses. I helped out with our Live Chat yesterday, but with so many people working from home, I was hardly able to grab a chat to work on. Our CSRs are really quick on the draw! I ended up working on product questions, where I am more help, anyway. What did suffer was our shipping. Telecommuting just does not work for shipping. But a good many of our shippers made it in today, and there will be plenty of overtime for our warehouse as we dig out from under our pile of orders. We are only a few days behind, and we will be back up to same day shipping very soon.
To our customers: we apologize for any inconvenience that this slow down has caused you, and thank you very much for you patience as we get unburied. If you would like to see a few more pictures of our snow, Check out our new Flickr page.
