3-Speed, Gear-Driven Transmission

Three speeds let you mix anything from whipped potatoes to whipped cream, and the speeds are labeled to indicate which attachment is best-suited for that setting. The dough hook is best suited for a low RPM of 178, the flat beater for a medium RPM of 293, and the wire whisk for a high RPM of 576. A gear-driven transmission design provides greater reliability over belt-driven mixers.

Does the hp (horsepower) rating of this mixer reflect the output to the mixer bowl?

Our motor hp reference is meant to indicate the horsepower rating of the motor itself and not the mixer's horsepower output to the mixer bowl.

I am looking for a mixer for my bakery. Would this be a good option?

This mixer is an excellent value for the price and is perfect for standard-duty applications. Due to the heavy usage required of a bakery mixer, we recommend choosing a more durable option specifically made for the challenge of heavy use. Please refer to the manufacturer literature for more detailed information about what each specific model can handle, and if you don't see the food you wish to mix, look for closest comparable food in texture.

I need to make icing and fondant for my bakery - is this the right mixer for me?

The Avantco 10 Qt. mixer is great for making dough, batters, mashed potatoes and other items. However for items like icing and fondant we recommend a KitchenAid Commercial 8 Qt. Mixer used with the KAFE7L Flex Edge Beater to reach the bottom of the bowl.

Why is there grease leaking out of my mixer?

The leaking is caused by grease breaking down inside the gear box. The grease can be replaced in the gear box to fix this issue. It’s recommended this is done by a qualified service technician.
