thermometer digital temperature works great easy thermometers accurate little more

We cook a lot of meats on the grill and now we can cut out the guess work if something is cooked just right OR slightly under cooked. Now we can check the temperature easily with this 6" probe it gives an accurate read within 5 seconds. Very nice addition!

    Making a latte.

This thermormeter broke within a week of me receiving it. Spend the extra money and get a thermometer that is more durable and will last.

Thank you for the review, Sarah! We're sorry this thermometer did not work well for you. Consider trying this Taylor 9840RB Classic Instant Read Pocket Thermometer instead!

We ordered this for our restaurant. We use it for checking the temperature of chicken. I've even dropped it in the boiling water and it still works. We will order it again if the need arises.

Our kitchen crew loves these thermometers. They are quick to report the temps. They are easy to keep clean. The clip on them helps keep them in the right place.

from Big Eddy's Deck Bar Posted on

Good thermometers to put in your chefs jacket or to keep around the kitchen. Clips on nicely. Must purchase, great to quickly check temperatures on meats, etc.

Very good temperature gauge. Readings where on point. Ran ice water test at first to ensure it works. Worked great and readings were very fast. A must get!!!

from Elite Wedding and Events LLC Posted on

Cheap and works well. I took one star off because it pops out a little often, and one because it can't be immersed and is therefore difficult to sanitize.

Thermometer works really well for temperature. However the build quality of this leaves a bit to be desired. The digital LCD top was popped off when we received it. The wiring was still connected but the top was off. We were able to snap it back in but it regularly pops out when used or jostled at all in the drawer. It makes me wonder a bit for the long term durability.

How do you calibrate this thermometer? It is fairly fast to get a read out. I still don't know how to calibrate it. Overall it's great for the price.

from Barakah Kabab INC. Posted on

Thank you for the review! We are happy that this thermometer is working well for you. Unfortunately, this thermometer cannot be calibrated. For a digital themometer that can be calibrated, try this Taylor 9877FDA 3" Waterproof Digital Pen Thermometer with 1.5mm Diameter Probe.

Bought several thermometers. I think you can never have too many. I like the fact that it's digital, doesn't take any time at all when you need to know the precise temperature. Wish there was a stainless steel one too.

    from Vamcomplex USA Posted on

I never used a digital thermometer prior to owning this and I love it. As part of inspection, we had to have a thermometer and this one works great.

    from Louami's Posted on

Here's the thing, there is a lot of unfounded negative reviews right now. You have to weigh the cost versus function variable. This probe works perfectly fine. Each of my chefs use it as there go to on the fly. Do I have a better one for more crucial temps? Sure I do. But the quality of this is actually above its price point. I highly recommend it.

from The new haven cafe Posted on

poor quality, top breaks open easily when bumped against walls, falls out of the sheath when bending over (and breaks).....NOT happy with our purchase (we bought over 200....twice)

from Stone Werks Big Rock Grille Posted on

Thank you for your review. We are sorry this thermometer did not withstand the busy environment of your restaurant. We recommend trying this Taylor 9840RB Classic Instant Read Pocket Thermometer with 5" Probe and Rubber Boot for a more durable option.

Serves it's purpose. It's great for the price and super easy to read. IT's fallen into the liquid in the pot a couple of times and survived eventhough it's not water proof.

from Confections by Kristin Posted on

This is a good, solid thermometer. The readout goes to temp quickly. It does take about 5 seconds or so to come fully to temp when inserted into meat. Best for soups and other liquids.

from Mike's Mindful Plate Posted on

Ok but not too sturdy. If they fall the top comes apart. I probably won't buy again and have since purchased other that are better

from Sunnehanna Country Club Posted on

This is one sharp little digital thermometer. When i received it I immediately broke it out to check its accuracy. This item is right on the money. I have personally tested it in both directions. I tested it down to 32 degrees and then took it to boiling at 212. It was right on the mark. I will gladly recommend it to my family and friends also my co-workers.

    from Chef B Posted on

This thermometer does what it should, but the button is a little tricky. We got more than one, but the button is wonky with both. It works, you just have to play with it a little.

Had it for a year and still works as good as day one. It reads temperature within a few seconds and has a toggle to switch between C and F. Comes with batteries as well.

Perfect for checking the temperature on poultry and other meast gives 100% accurate temperature reading and easy to clean and store, digital reading makes it easy to figure out. No more guessing if you undercooked meats again, I'm beyond happy with this product.

This digital thermometer reads temperatures very quickly although it would be nice if it would turn off automatically after a few minutes to save battery. The employees don't know how to turn stuff off after they are done with it.

    Posted on

Those digital probes are very poore quality, they didn't last at all, some of them were used only one day and on others the wires were unwelded; I would recommend to spend a bit more for a better product.

    from PennState Posted on

Thank you for your review! We apologize that these did not work out for you. A Customer Solutions Representative will be in contact shortly! While these probe thermometers are a great value, try the Taylor 3516 4 3/4" TruTemp digital instant read probe thermometer if you would like to try another brand.

Easy to read . The battery lasts for long time and it comes with extra one. It gives accurate reading every time. The housing is not sturdy, but with careful use, it will be OK. Highly recommended.

from Bangkok Place Thai Restaurant Posted on

This 6" Digital Probe thermometer is easy to use and to read. Only one thing is that the button is a little hard to turn on, other that this a great thermometer for the price. It will work good for light cooking.

from T & C Catering Services Posted on

Very nice and accurate probe thermometer. Helps me when grilling meats to get them to the perfect temperature for everyone. Also great for checking if bread is done baking.

from Poisson Home Repair Posted on

This is an affordable thermometer, but i wouldn't recommend for high use. Mine broke very quickly. The backs like to break off. Would be good for back ups though, the health depart. likes seeing lots of thermometers.

    from Lisa's Lunchbox Posted on

Thank you for reviewing this product! For a heavier duty thermometer, we recommend the Taylor 3516 4 3/4" TruTemp digital instant read probe thermometer.

Purchased 6" Digital Probe Thermometer after multiple failed attempts using a regular probe thermometer. This works fantastic! Turn it on, slide it in your meat, and within seconds you get your temperature! Perfect!

    from Primitive Gardens Posted on

Thermometer is a good value. The readout is clear and the functionality works fine. The only caution is if you drop them. One drop and they are dead.

    from Sbarro Pizzeria Posted on

I use this thermometer during my cooking class all the time. My students always ask where I got it at, it fits great in my chef coat pocket.

from Alex's Personal Chef Service Posted on

This is a must have for any cook. Gives a very accurate temp and is easily readable. They also seem to last for a fairly long time.

from Prescott Pines Camp Posted on

A handy tool to have around. Since it's digital, I appreciated that it came with not only one battery, but also a spare. Takes fairly quick readings in C or F. A good value.

    Posted on

Very good thermometer at a value price. You can buy more expensive thermometers but this one suites the needs of our commercial kitchen and we use it daily.

    Posted on

For the price they seem to do the job. I personal prefer the ones that register a near instant reading, but at the rate my employees break them, these fit the bill.

from Michael Angelo's Pizza, Inc. Posted on

It worked great to test the water for yeast. It helped me to test the water at the right temp. Easier to use than the normal thermometer. I would recommend it to anyone.
