A great product at an unbeatable value. Solidly built and fully functional, but I had to remove 1 star because the plunger does not reach the bottom of the carafe when depressed all the way. This means you can't fully squeeze the ground beans unless you brew a full serving's worth of beans. (It's about a 1/2" distance from the bottom.) However, it works fine when you make a full pot.

Nice quality. Tempered glass. Easy to use, markings on glass for measuring. Nice upgrade to any coffee station. Great price on this site.Dishwasher friendly and easy to hand wash.

i love this stainless steel french press, it is such a classic way to make your coffee. nothing gets me out of bed easier in the morning than a fresh cup of coffee from this french press

After looking at local stores (Bed Bath & Beyond) and reading their reviews, seems the biggest complaint for presses costing $30 or more are the glass is thin and breaks easily. The glass on this press is quite thick and is shatterproof and heat-resistant, and you can tell its sturdy. The coffee is outstanding, much better then I ever thought. I use 2 TBS of coffee per 8 oz of water, and let it steep for 4 min. The key to not having bitter coffee is to add a pinch of kosher salt to the coffee before adding the water, yes a pinch of kosher salt!. I boil my water in a microwave safe measuring cup, about 3 1/2 minutes. So overall it takes 7 1/2 minutes to make the best tasting coffee you can make at home. I have one of those single shot coffee makers and I wont bother anymore with that. Even my wife who doesn't like coffee agreed that the taste is much smoother then regular coffee. I agree that the coffee is extremely smooth. The plunger seems flawless, no grains of coffee past the seal into my beverage. You would think for the price this must be cheap IT IS NOT! Even with shipping it costs less then poor rated presses at local big box stores (Bed Bath and Beyond) this is an outstanding product. I also received this NEXT DAY!!! Now thats service...

Nice large size french press coffee maker! Great for small batches of the best tasting coffee you could have! Also great for emulsifying salad dressings!!!
