Safely and quickly open clams with this specially designed 3" clam knife! Its wide surface and full, stainless steel blade has a rounded tip to easily pry open the tasty mollusks. The blade is attached to a riveted wood handle for a tight and non-slip, secure grip. The top edge of the blade is dull, whereas the bottom edge, used for opening the shell, is a bit sharper. Whether needed in your personal or commercial kitchen or needed for table top service, this clam knife will make your staff’s or your guest’s experience much more enjoyable and safe! By holding the edge of the knife parallel to the clam’s shell opening, the tip can easily be pushed into the clam, prying open the shell to remove the clam for serving. Ideal for seafood restaurants or any establishment serving shellfish, this clam knife is a great addition to your food preparation supply! To prolong the life of this clam knife, it should be hand washed only.

I highly recommend this knife. It's perfectly designed and the steel quality was good. When I first questioned the need for a clam knife versus just having an oyster knife, I quickly saw why they have variations. For the price, you cannot go wrong.
