These aren't the classiest or most comfortable knives to hold, but you can clearly tell that from the picture. These are great knives to own several of. I tend to use paring knives more for little things - cut a few slices of cheese, open some packaging, etc. - so it's beneficial to have only one nice paring knife, and then four or five cheaper paring knives for one-use applications. These knives fill the cheaper knives portion of the set - they do great work for single, little tasks where I use them once then throw them in the dishwasher. If you're looking for a knife that you can hold and use for half an hour to peel potatoes or whatever - buy something more expensive, these aren't great for that.

I needed some small knives to cut lemons, and I wasn't sure if these were going to be sharp enough - compact and sharp, I would recommend them. They would be great in a picnic basket too.
